The Gym Counts team pathway
Grow with confidence. Compete with purpose.
For athletes who want more, the Gym Counts team pathway offers a place to train, grow and compete — without losing the confidence, care and belonging every kid deserves.
A different kind of team.
Competitive gymnastics can feel rigid — built for kids who already fit a certain mold. Gym Counts took a different path. Our team pathway was created for athletes who didn't fit comfortably into the traditional system, and it's built around development, encouragement and well-being as much as results.

Gym Counts exclusive
The Homegrown Program.
Homegrown is a Gym Counts-exclusive program, created for children who didn't fit comfortably into the traditional gymnastics system. It emphasizes development at the athlete's pace — building strength, encouragement, confidence and athlete well-being ahead of anything else.
Who it may fit
Athletes who love gymnastics but haven't thrived in a rigid competitive structure — and families looking for a pathway that prioritizes the whole child.
- Strength and skill at the athlete's pace
- Confidence and encouragement
- Athlete well-being first
- A team that matches their drive
Optional Team
Optional Team is a later pathway for athletes ready for a larger competitive challenge. It builds on the foundations of Homegrown and offers a next step for gymnasts who want to compete at a higher level — with the same emphasis on confidence and well-being.
How placement works
There's no self-serve sign-up for team. Placement is handled conversationally — our team gets to know the athlete, their experience and their goals, and helps determine whether Homegrown or Optional Team is the right fit. The best first step is a call.
