A Flippin Education
Inspired by purpose, Driven by passion
Gym Counts was founded in 1986 by Tracy Counts in Maryville, Tennessee. Having coached the sport her entire life, Tracy wanted to take everything she learned and open a gym that reflects her personality and values that have deep roots in southern culture. Her incredible energy and zest for life are reflected in the culture of Gym Counts, and you can feel it the minute you walk in. Our gym is BIG on inclusion - there is a place to learn for everyone, no matter what your skill level or your life journey is! We believe that everyone should be able to learn in a fun, safe, and judgment-free place!
IT'S A FAMILY AFFAIR
Gym Counts is family owned and operated, and our mission is to treat everyone who walks through our doors as one of our own.
Our family believes that gymnastics is more than just a sport if taught with a purpose. At Gym Counts, we strive to empower children, create athletes, and inspire leaders.
Jessica is the oldest of the Counts siblings.
She developed a love for the sport from a young age and competed through level 8.
She moved on to become a USAG National Rated Official.
Jessica is married to Chad Lane and together they have two beautiful children, Levi and Evie.
Jessica wishes to carry on the vision that Tracy began. Our brand promise is to treat you as family! You matter to us! We believe here at Gym Counts that not only are we developing athletes but we are building leaders.
Chad married Jessica in 2013 and became part of the Counts family.
He shares a love for kids and a passion to make everyone feel valued and important.
You will find Chad teaching the Ninja class, but most of his work is behind the scenes. He partners with Jessica to improve the family experience.
Callie is the youngest of the Counts’ siblings. Her gymnastics journey began at the age of two. Callie did gymnastics at the collegiate level at the University of Wisconsin-Stout from 2012-2016. She competed vault, beam, and floor for UW-Stout and was one of the co-captains of the team her junior and senior year.
Callie wishes to continue the gymnastics program that her parents started years ago, where everyone matters and the sport benefits all. Gymnastics has had a huge impact on her life and she hopes by continuing to share the sport through the family business that others will have the opportunity to be positively impacted as well.
Callie knows that the benefit of this sport goes far beyond skills level and competition. Callie works with the homegrown program and the optional level gymnasts.
Josh is the middle child of the Counts’ siblings. Just like all of the Counts’ kids, Josh grew up in the gym at a very young age. He competed all the way to level 10.
He has been coaching at Gym Counts for 12 years. His love for gymnastics, movement, and play are evident through his fun and energetic coaching style!
Josh plays several roles at Gym Counts such as the Ninja instructor, tumbling class instructor, bar coach (for all levels), and optional coach. Our brand is to make everyone feel and know that they are important and they matter. That purpose is what Josh lives into everyday.
